Police and firefighters in Hiawatha had a busy morning after making a met bust in a mobile home park.
Police Chief Dennis Marks tells CBS 2 News an officer on routine patrol early this morning smelled an overpowering chemical odor coming from a mobile home.
When officers knocked on the door, 28-year old Shane Lagrange tried to run out the back door – right into the arms of waiting officers.
Lagrange now faces four drug-related, including conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine, and interfering with a police officer.
Marks also tells us the Hiawatha Fire Department was called in to deal with the chemicals found inside the mobile home – all of which have now been removed.
Lagrange is currently in the Linn County Jail.
