SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — A southwest Missouri man is glad to have his stolen car back, but he’s a little worried by something he says turned up in the trunk.
Mike Prescott contacted Springfield police after finding what he says appeared to be components for a mobile methamphetamine lab. Prescott took a picture of the trunk’s contents and called police back to his home.
KYTV reports that police won’t comment because they’re still investigating.
But officers said if it does turn out the car was used as a mobile meth lab, it would be the first time they’ve heard of someone using a stolen vehicle for that purpose.
Prescott says he’s just concerned for his family’s health. He wants to know if the car is safe before using it again.
