Comments Off on Scotland man pleads not guilty in son’s death

SCOTLAND — A Scotland man pleaded not guilty this morning to killing his four-month-old son earlier this month.

Chris Miller pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and aggravated assault during an appearance at Tyndall.

He has also been accused of violating probation set after a 2009 conviction for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Miller’s son, Jacob, was taken to the hospital on March 3 after he was reported to have stopped breathing. Miller claimed he found his wife, Stacy, lying on top of the child. Jacob was taken off life support on March 8 and later died.

Court documents say Jacob had injuries indicative of child abuse, which authorities allege was carried out by Chris Miller.

Miller is currently in custody. His bond is set at $700,000.
