A Wausau woman accused of being high on methamphetamine and being outside with her infant for three hours was charged this afternoon with child neglect.
Kassandra Kasten, 23, was arrested March 16 on a misdemeanor charge of child neglect after police were called to investigate a report of a woman running around outside with an infant who was not properly clothed, according to a police report.
Marathon County Circuit Court Judge Vincent Howard ordered today that Kasten can be released from jail after she posts a $250 cash bond. Kasten must maintain absolute sobriety and comply with terms set by the Marathon County Social Services regarding visits to her 1-year-old daughter.
Kasten said that she and another man, Matthew J. Milne, 34, of Wausau, used methamphetamine at a home in the 100 block of North First Street in Wausau, according to a criminal complaint.
Kasten also was charged this afternoon with misdemeanor theft that stemmed from an incident Jan. 29, court records showed.
