Police seized a “substantial amount” of methamphetamine and arrested nine people in raids across Wellington this morning.
Five men and four women were arrested when 60 police staff simultaneously searched properties in Berhampore, Petone, Lower Hutt, Wainuiomata and Masterton, Lower Hutt Senior Sergeant Steve Harwood said.
Police also seized two cannabis growing operations and stolen computers.
Those arrested face charges including selling and supplying methamphetamine.
“This operation should send a clear message to our communities that police remain committed to protecting people against the harm and destruction caused by methamphetamine,” Harwood said.
Further arrests were likely.
