Comments Off on Arrest Made In Connection With Torture Of Homeless Woman

San Luis Obispo, CA — A San Luis Obispo man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted murder, after he allegedly tortured and assaulted a 26-year-old woman last week. Officers spotted 46-year-old Tommy Ledbetter just after midnight walking through a cemetery on South Higuera St.

Police had been looking for him since April 1 when they had received a report that a homeless woman was assaulted on South St. The woman was found walking through the neighborhood with serious injuries to her head, chest and arms. Police obtained a $750,000 warrant for Ledbetter’s arrest Tuesday.

When officers stopped Ledbetter, he had methamphetamine and a controlled prescription narcotic with him. Ledbetter was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, torture, assault with a deadly weapon and drug charges. He was booked into County Jail in lieu of $750,000 bail.
