MACKAY police have arrested and charged a 38-year-old Rockhampton man with multiple drug offences.
Police allege he has been operating a clandestine methamphetamine lab.
Police raided what they said was a “non-operational” drug laboratory in Rockyview on Tuesday, finding equipment including chemicals that could be used for the production of methamphetamine.
A small amount of methamphetamine was also found at the address.
Although a 46-year-old man was charged with possession of a drug utensil and possessing a thing used in a drug offence, the occupant was not located at the time.
Detective Sergeant Andre Wittenburg, of Mackay CIB, said that man was arrested and charged in Mackay yesterday with being an unlicensed driver.
He has since been charged with eight further counts including possession of amphetamines, possession of MDMA, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of equipment in relation to producing a dangerous drug.
He is due to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on April 21.
