ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A man faces charges after a methamphetamine lab was found in the trunk of his car, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said.
Richard Lee Jones, 39, was arrested Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Office said it began investigation Jones in March after receiving information from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office that he was involved in operating a meth lab.
On Wednesday, investigators learned Jones would be delivering meth to a location in the Atwell community, the Sheriff’s Office said. They stopped his car and said they found a meth lab in his trunk. Investigators also seized 2 grams of meth, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Jones is charges with possession with intent to sell methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursor chemicals, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $150,000 bond.
