Comments Off on Five arrested after suspected kidnapping and drug bust at Bass Hill motel

POLICE arrested five people after responding to a report of a woman being held against her will in a motel on the Hume Highway at Bass Hill yesterday.

Bankstown police went to the hotel about 3.30pm yesterday and seized a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, also know as the drug Ice, when they stopped and searched two men trying to leave the motel.

Both men were arrested and taken to Bankstown police station. One man, 27, was charged with supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug. The second man, 28, was charged with possess prohibited drug. They were refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today.

Meanwhile, police secured a perimeter around the room at the motel and by 7.15pm specialist police negotiators and Tactical Operations Unit officers approached the room and requested the occupants come out.

A man, 38, a woman, 24, and a female youth, 17, emerged from the room without incident a short time later. They were taken to Bankstown police station and questioned.

The man was charged with two outstanding warrants and refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today. The youth was charged with an outstanding warrant and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court today. The woman was released without charge.
