Comments Off on Utah man paid for killing with 1 ounce of methamphetamine

OREM, Utah — Two people are charged with a shooting death that police say was paid for with one ounce of methamphetamine.

The Deseret News of Salt Lake reports that charges filed in 4th District Court Wednesday say 38-year-old Darrell Wayne Morris was hired to kill Andy Wendell Purcell.

The 32-year-old Purcell was found shot in the head on the front porch of his Provo, Utah, home May 16. He died the next day.

The charges say Morris was hired by 32-year-old Yuri Sanchez Lara because of a dispute over money with Purcell. Lara gave Morris a half-ounce of methamphetamine prior to the shooting and another half-ounce after the shooting

Lara and Morris are held in Utah County Jail. It wasn’t immediately clear if either suspect had an attorney.–Contract-Killing-Utah/
