HONOLULU ā€” A methamphetamine dealer is facing 30 years to life in prison after being convicted in federal court of selling the drug to a confidential source.

Federal prosecutors say Ashford Kaipo Spencer was convicted on two counts of knowing and intentional distribution of methamphetamine.

After being convicted Wednesday, he was immediately taken into custody.

Prosecutors say Spencer was arrested when he sold methamphetamine in April and June of 2009 in Waimanalo.

Prosecutors say the 57-year-old Spencer is facing the lengthy prison term because of two prior state convictions involving crimes of violence.–Meth-Dealer-Convicted/
