PHOENIX — A traffic stop in western Arizona has led to the recovery of 84 pounds of methamphetamine worth nearly $1.4 million.

The Department of Public Safety says officers pulled over a pickup truck Monday on Interstate 8, 20 miles east of Yuma, for an equipment violation.

Officers obtained a search warrant and recovered 41 packages of methamphetamine weighing 41 pounds. Another warrant was obtained and a search of a residence in San Luis led to the recovery of 40 more packages of methamphetamine and weighing 43 pounds.

Two men, both from San Luis, were booked into jail for transport and sale of dangerous drugs.
