Two Los Angeles men found in central Illinois with a stash of methamphetamine could get up to 60 years in prison when they’re sentenced on July 25.

After a bench trial, Judge Heidi Ladd found 25-year-old Leonel Galaviz-Galaviz and 35-year-old Jose Canizalez-Cardenas guilty of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine on Wednesday.

The (Champaign) News-Gazette reports that an Illinois State Police trooper stopped the men while they were driving south on Interstate 57 near Rantoul in September. A drug-sniffing dog signaled that there were drugs in the car.

Authorities say a search found almost seven pounds of meth in a secret compartment in the car’s undercarriage. State police officials say the drugs had a street value of more than $628,000.
