Comments Off on Lucerne woman arrested after allegedly bringing drugs to court

LUCERNE, Calif. – Detectives with the Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force have arrested a Lucerne woman for felony narcotics charges and seized nearly one-quarter of an ounce of methamphetamine after she allegedly brought the concealed drugs to a Lake County Superior Court appearance.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 7, 24-year-old Sahra Arline Wilcoxson appeared in Department 4 of the Lake County Superior Court for a narcotics case stemming from a previous arrest by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in October 2010, according to a report from Capt. James Bauman.

Wilcoxson was facing felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales and other narcotics-related charges. Bauman said she also was facing a charge of violating her formal felony probation as a result of that arrest.

While Wilcoxson was waiting in the courtroom to appear before Judge Stephen Hedstrom, probation officers brought her into the sheriff’s substation, located adjacent to the Lake County Superior Court, for a routine compliance check of the terms of her probation, Bauman said.

He said detectives with the Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force were on duty at the substation at the time and assisted probation officers with Wilcoxson’s detention.

During questioning by narcotics detectives, Wilcoxson allegedly divulged that she would not pass a drug screening as she had recently used methamphetamine, according to Bauman.

Bauman said she also allegedly told detectives she had methamphetamine and a “meth” pipe on her person, concealed in her bra. She then retrieved a baggie containing almost one-quarter ounce of methamphetamine from beneath one side of her bra, and a glass pipe from the other side.

The previous narcotics and probation violation cases Wilcoxson was to appear in court for on Tuesday were continued to another date and she was arrested for the new charges, Bauman said.

She was later transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility where she was booked on additional charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. Bauman said she also will face another new charge of violating her formal felony probation as a result of Tuesday’s arrest.
