The Fort Smith Police Department arrested two people Wednesday after finding two shake-and-bake methamphetamine labs in their hotel room.

Officers responded to Relax Inn, 1215 S. W St., after receiving several reports that the occupants in one of the rooms were actively cooking meth, according to a news release issued by Sgt. Daniel Grubbs.

Officers made contact with Cody Wayne McCarrol, 21, of Pocola when it was discovered he had two outstanding warrants. Officers then heard movement in the bathroom, which also had smoke emitting from underneath the door, the release states.

Terry Lee Blackshear, 28, of Kibler was found inside the smoky bathroom and arrested, according to the release.

Narcotics detectives obtained a search warrant after securing the room and found two one-pot method meth labs, also known as shake-and-bake labs, and a small amount of marijuana, according to the release.

McCarrol was arrested on suspicion of two counts of delivery of meth, the two outstanding warrants for petition to revoke a suspended sentence and failure to appear, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, the release states. His bond is set at $175,000.

Blackshear was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing meth, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, according to the release. His bond is set at $75,000.

Both are being held at the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center.
