A local woman was being held on $30,000 bond after her arrest for possession of amphetamine.

Authorities contend that Michele Laree Beeman, 28, was also in possession of several precursors to the manufacture of methamphetamine.

According the case’s probable cause affidavit, around 12:15 a.m. June 30, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle near Virginia Avenue and 1600 Road.

At that time it was determined that a passenger in the vehicle, Beeman, had an active warrant for her arrest. A subsequent search of the vehicle reportedly turned up a substance thought to be methamphetamine under the passenger seat. Additionally, deputies say they found pseudoephedrine tablets and Coleman fuel under the seat.

According to the affidavit, pseudoephedrine is the main ingredient in the manufacture of methamphetamine and Coleman fuel is found in the “majority of methamphetamine labs,” the affidavit states.
