Comments Off on Two men accused of selling, making methamphetamine

MOUNT HOPE — Two men went to jail Wednesday on felony and misdemeanor drug charges for allegedly manufacturing and selling methamphetamine.

Lawrence County Drug Task Force agents first sent informants to buy methamphetamine from roommates Michael David Holt, 23, and Preston Christopher Massey, 22, who live at 4480 Lawrence County 39, said Sheriff Gene Mitchell. On Wednesday, agents conducted another undercover drug deal and followed the two men back to their home.

“When the agents attempted to make contact with the two men, a foot chase ensued,” Mitchell said. “Both men were apprehended without incident shortly after the chase began.”

Authorities searched the home and found numerous “one-pot” meth labs and items associated with the drug’s production, he said. Both men were charged with distribution of controlled substance, first-degree and second-degree unlawful manufacturing of controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

They remained in the Lawrence County Jail Thursday with no bail set yet.
