Comments Off on Woman arrested on charges including possession of meth after traffic stop

Prescott police booked Susanne Loretta Hagestad, 22, of Prescott Monday into the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde on charges of possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia after an officer found illegal drugs in her car during a traffic stop.

At 1:05 a.m., an officer stopped the car Hagestad was driving in the 100 block of North Cortez Street after he noticed the car had a cracked windshield and only one working headlight. When the officer noticed that Hagestad appeared nervous, he asked if she had anything illegal in the car, and Hagestad told the officer, “Not that I know of,” according to the police report.

The officer searched the car and found a baggie with marijuana under the driver’s seat and a vial with a white crystal substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine in Hagestad’s purse. Hagestad initially told the officer that the marijuana and meth were not hers and she didn’t know where they came from, but later said the vial of meth was hers, according to the police report.
