A Floyd County woman remained in jail on felony and misdemeanor drug charges after police alleged she was found with methamphetamine during her arrest on warrants for theft charges, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Brittany Dawn Ball, 22, of 75 McGrady Road, told deputies she had a meth pipe in her purse when she was arrested Friday at about 8 p.m. on warrants for felony theft by taking and misdemeanor theft by deception charges.

Officers also arrested Jason Ray Collins, 35, of 302 Kingston Ave., on felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Reports stated officers were told originally that it was believed Collins had a gun, but was only found with drugs in his pants pockets upon arrest.

Warrants stated Ball was alleged to have taken jewelry from a woman’s home on Mountain Creek Drive on Oct. 12 and attempted to sell the items for $150 at a local pawn shop.

The jewelry was valued at approximately $500.

The two were taken into custody at a hotel on 3158 Martha Berry Blvd. without further incident.

Both were being held on $10,950 bonds each on Friday night.
