Comments Off on 6 Arrested During Narcotics Investigation – 6 Pounds Of Meth Found

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Tuesday, at about 2:07 pm deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Major Violators Unit, with assistance from the Special Operations Group and the H.I.D.T.A. Task Force, served search warrants at 124 Harlow Ave. in McFarland and 11475 Garzoli Ave. #5 in Delano.

The search warrants were served as the result of an investigation into the sales of illegal drugs.

When deputies arrived at the home at 124 Harlow Avenue, they said they detained 26-year-old Juan Ramos at the front of the home.

Ramos was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of an assault weapon, possession of cocaine for sale, and being armed while in possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies said that as they made their way into the home, Alejandro Gonzalez, 25; David Soto, 23; three additional people fled the home through a rear bedroom window and ran into the surrounding neighborhood.

Gonzalez was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a high capacity magazine, being armed while in possession of a controlled substance, and conspiracy

Soto was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of cocaine for sale, possession of an assault weapon, and being armed while in possession of a controlled substance

Vasquez was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a high capacity magazine, being armed while in possession of a controlled substance, and conspiracy.

Those three men were arrested without incident after a brief foot pursuit.

Two other men who had left the home in a vehicle shortly before the search warrant was served, were also detained after the vehicle was stopped a short distance from the home, officials said. They were identified as 23-year-old Jose Romo and 29-year-old Jose Garcia.

Romo was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine for sale and conspiracy; and Garcia was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine for sale and conspiracy.

Deputies then searched the home.

Deputies said they found six pounds of methamphetamine, evidence of drug sales, a fully loaded TEC9 9mm assault pistol with a 30 round capacity magazine, a fully loaded assault rifle with a 30 round capacity magazine, and a fully loaded 45 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Deputies said they also found a large caliber ammunition round.

The Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad later responded and identified the round as a military issued 20mm training round.

During the search warrant service at 11475 Garzoli Ave. #5 in Delano, deputies said they found 12 ounces of suspected cocaine.

Officials said there was no one at home during the raid, however deputies later determined Soto was a resident of the home on Garzoli Ave.

The investigation is ongoing.
