Comments Off on Redding Man Accused of Bomb Making, Selling Methamphetamine

REDDING, Calif. — A Redding man being accused of making home-made explosives and dealing methamphetamine from his home has been released from Shasta County Jail.

Officers served a search warrant at the home of David Wayne Smith, of Redding, Friday night. RPD tell us Smith is a convicted felon, who was discovered to have several improvised explosive devices at his apartment on Victor Street.

Police tell us they also discovered methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia, and an illegal fire-arm as well.

Two other men, Opan Vaughn and Mark Martinez, were also arrested at his home. Vaughn was booked for possession of methamphetamine, while Martinez was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

As of Saturday afternoon, a spokesperson at Shasta County Jail confirmed that Smith had been released, but would not say when he was released or if he posted bail.
