Police serving a narcotics-related search warrant arrested a 28-year-old Morgan Hill resident after they say he was in possession of more than a quarter pound of cocaine with a street value of up to $14,500.

Morgan Hill police worked with members of the Unified Narcotic Enforcement Team on the warrant at the Hill Road residence of Thomas Hasty on Friday. Inside, they found Hasty along with 145 grams of cocaine, a loaded handgun, ammunition, digital scales and packaging material, police said. There was also a gram of methamphetamine in Hasty’s bedroom, police said.

At $80 to $100 a gram, the street value of the cocaine would be $11,600 to $14,500, according to authorities.

Hasty was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on charges of possession of cocaine for sale, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
