Comments Off on Teddy bear a drug mule? Calif. police arrest woman for hiding meth in stuffed animal

(CBS) MERCED, Calif. – A Northern California police officer found methamphetamine hidden inside a teddy bear in a woman’s bedroom on Sunday, CBS Sacramento reports.

Sandra Oseguera, 28, was arrested for possession of meth after police said they found drugs in her son’s teddy bear

Deputy Brankel Nobari of the Merced County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a drug compliance check in Sandra Oseguera’s house when his police dog Rally alerted them to a scent of narcotics coming from her bedroom.

The 2-year-old black Labrador retriever led Nobari to a teddy bear that was sitting on the bed. The bear belonged to Oseguera’s 2-year-old son and reportedly contained a gram of methamphetamine, a small scale and a “snorting” straw used to inhale meth.

Oseguera, 28, was previously arrested in January on meth charges. She was taken into custody Sunday with fresh charges of possession of methamphetamine, and was held without bail, the sheriff’s department said.
