Comments Off on 2 French Creek Residents Arrested on Drug Charges

The Upshur County Sheriff’s Department arrested two French Creek residents on drug charges Sunday.

Robert J. Tiffner, 19, and Joshua Tenney, 24, were arrested and charged with operating or attempting to operate a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.

Upshur County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in the Grand Camp Road area of Upshur County on Sunday while attempting to serve an arrest warrant, according to the news release.

Sheriff’s deputies had been seeking the whereabouts of Tenney on warrants of obtaining and transferring stolen property and leaving the scene of an accident. Deputies said they received information that Tenney was at a residence on Grand Camp Road.

Once deputies arrived at the residence, Tenney and Tiffner fled, resulting in a foot pursuit. Deputies said both men were apprehended and after further investigation at the scene, deputies found a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in operation.

A West Virginia State Police lab tech was called in to dismantle the lab, according to the news release.

Both men are currently being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. Bail for Tenney was set at $125,000 and bail for Tiffner was set at $100,000.
