ANDOVER — Four people were arrested — including one person hospitalized with burns — after an explosion Saturday night in an Allegany County trailer where police suspect methamphetamine was being manufactured.

The explosion and fire on County Road 22, in the Town of Andover, was reported at 9:18 p.m., state police said today

A burn victim, identified only as a 26-year-old, is in police custody at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville. The victim suffered first- and second-degree burns and smoke inhalation, troopers said.

That victim, along with Steven M. Weiss, 22; Elizabeth K. Martin, 21; and Angie M. Matison, 34, all of Andover, were charged with felony counts of unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and criminal possession of precursors of methamphetamine, and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.

Weiss, Martin and Matison were to be arraigned this morning in Scio Town Court, troopers said.

The explosion and fire caused extensive damage to the east side of the trailer, troopers said. The cause is being investigated by the Town of Andover Fire Department and Allegany County fire investigators.
