Bossier City police were forced to evacuate a hotel on East Texas Street on Friday to dispose of a methamphetamine lab that had been set up in one of the rooms.

Officers arrested Cory Teller, 25, who they say admitted to building the lab and cooking the meth.

Bossier police spokesman Sgt. Bart Cavanaugh said police received an anonymous tip that something suspicious was taking place in a room at the Airview Motel in the 5600 block of East Texas Street.

When officers arrived, they found Teller loading the open trunk of his vehicle with what they determined to be chemicals used in the production of methamphetamines.

Officers also reportedly found 3 grams of meth on Teller, who then admitted to setting up a lab in  a hotel room, Cavanaugh said.

The motel was evacuated and the fire department was called in to assist narcotics officers in separating the chemical substances safely.

Teller was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule II CDS and the creation of a clandestine lab.

No one was injured as a result of the evacuation or the disposal of the lab.
