Comments Off on RCMP recover methamphetamine in drug arrest

Chilliwack Mounties have recovered a large amount of methamphetamine from a suspected drug house and arrested a man in connection to the case.

It went down last Thursday at an undisclosed Cook Street address in downtown Chilliwack, where officers were probing a house they think drugs were being sold from.

Mounties approached two men, one of them a known drug dealer, as they came out of the residence.

One of them tried to flee, but was boxed by police and arrested.

“As a result of the arrest, police have recovered a large quantity of what is believed to be methamphetamine, a prohibited weapon and evidence suggesting drug trafficking,” said Const. Tracy Wolbeck in a statement.

The 36-year-old Surrey man, who hasn’t been identified, remains in custody for unrelated offences.
