DECATUR, Alabama – Police arrested a Decatur man on various drug charges after police they found a methamphetamine laboratory in the garage of his southwest Decatur home, a police news release said.

Steven Miles Holt, 42, was arrested Tuesday on charges of manufacturing a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, the news release said. Holt’s bond was set at $6,000.

An officer responding to a call about a possible meth lab at Holt’s home on Harold Drive smelled odors associated with a meth lab coming from a detached garage, the release said.

Officers found the meth lab in the garage after Holt admitted materials used to make meth were in the garage and gave them permission to go inside, police said.
