PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — A tip leads sheriff’s deputies to home that ends with three arrests associated with a methamphetamine lab.
The Pike County Sheriffs Office tells NBC4 they received a complaint of methamphetamine being manufactured at a home along the 2300 block of McCoy Road in the western part of the county.
When deputies arrived, they smelled a strong order and witnessed several people running into a wooded area and a mobile home.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrested Richard L. Brushart Jr., 43 of Waverly, who was seen running into the woods with a duffel bag that contained an active meth lab.

Rodney Chandler, 47, of Waverly, was also arrested. He was found into the mobile home.

A third person, Maria Pennington, 31, of Lucasville, was arrested inside the mobile home.
All three are charged with the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals to manufacture methamphetamines, and possession of criminal tools. Brushart was also charged with tampering with evidence.
All three were taken to the Scioto County Jail and are waiting for arraignment.
