Testimony resumed today in the trial for a Linda man accused of torturing his girlfriend in April over perceived infidelities.
A seven-man, five-woman jury was impaneled Thursday to hear the case against Tyrone Laurence Dyson, who has pleaded not guilty to a slew of felony assault and sex charges including torture, rape, false imprisonment and assault with a deadly weapon.
The 31-year-old victim testified today that Dyson smoked methamphetamine throughout the ordeal, and that he beat her with a BB gun, a knife, a broomstick and sex toy.
Dyson also threatened to kill the woman’s children, rape her mother and beat her father if she told police, the victim testified.
The suspect denied assaulting the woman and reportedly told investigators he may have gotten “carried away” during sex.
The victim testified previously and today that Dyson would secretly record her with a cell phone while he was gone because of suspicions that she was cheating on him.
