According to DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, the Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a possible domestic violence incident on County Road 467 in Crossville. Harris said deputies were given consent to search the home by the resident.

During the search, drugs and drug paraphernalia were found, and the DeKalb County Drug Task Force was contacted and responded to the scene, Harris said.

Officers discovered the components of a methamphetamine lab in a shed behind the home, Harris said.

Harris said Phillip Nathan Pointer, 39, was charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting prison contraband. Harris said Pointer remains in the DeKalb County Detention Center awaiting bond.

Pointed was charged earlier this year with discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle or building and was out on bond, Harris said.
