VANCOUVER, Wash. — A drug task force says officers seized 74 pounds of methamphetamine from a Vancouver apartment used as a safe house by a Mexican ring that brought the drug from California and distributed it in the Portland-Vancouver area.

The Clark County sheriff’s office says it’s the largest amount of meth seized in the county.

Also seized in raids Monday night and early Tuesday was more than $45,000 in cash. Two men were arrested on drug or gun charges.

As part of the same investigation two men suspected of taking cash back to California were arrested in May with $120,000.

The Clark-Vancouver Regional Task Force says it was helped by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Portland Police HIT team.
