ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — The manager of a downtown Roseburg motel was arrested on accusations of selling methamphetamine at the location.

Douglas County authorities say 49-year-old Michelle Sullivan was taken into custody at the Douglas Inn last week after selling a small amount of the drug in a transaction arranged by investigators.

Police also arrested a long-term resident at the motel, George Walker Humphrey III. He is accused of supplying Sullivan with the methamphetamine.

The News-Review newspaper reported that Sullivan has been employed by the motel for seven years and had publicly defended its reputation.

She told the newspaper ( she does not use methamphetamine and the deal was a favor for a friend.

Sullivan said she hopes the arrest does not hurt business because she wants to see the motel shine.
