ALLIANCE — A convicted drug dealer was behind bars Wednesday morning, accused of making meth with a toddler nearby.

Danny L. Lucas, 31, of 946 S. Freedom Ave., was arrested at 7:01 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of East Ohio Avenue on felony charges of endangering children, illegal manufacture of drugs and assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, Stark County Jail records said.

Jail records said he was making methamphetamines “in the vicinity” of a 2-year-old child.

Lucas was booked into the jail where he remained early Wednesday, held in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Stark County jail records show he has been to prison at least twice on charges involving illegal drugs.

He went to prison in 2003 for cocaine possession, and in 2001 for three counts of trafficking cocaine, the court records show.

On Tuesday night, police seized from him instant cold packs, pseudoephedrine, Coleman camping fuel, lithium, tubing, aluminum foil, batteries, several two-liter bottles and coffee filters — “all necessary to make methamphetamine,” the jail records said.
