The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of a large methamphetamine materials dumpsite off Bancroft Chapel Road.

In a Tuesday afternoon press release, SCSO spokeswoman Leslie Earhart said vice and narcotics detectives located a “relatively large” dumpsite, involving materials used to make methamphetamine, in a wooded area inside a mobile home park at 531 Bancroft Chapel Road.

Detectives reportedly recovered 50 bottles used to manufacture methamphetamine from the site.  As of Tuesday afternoon, Earhart advised the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

The Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force Truck responded to the scene. The Drug Enforcement Administration(DEA), 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force(DTF), Kingsport Police Department Vice Detectives, and Bristol, Tennessee Police Vice Detectives assisted. Sullivan County EMS as well as the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department also assisted.
