PHARR — U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the seizure of more than seven pounds of liquid methamphetamine stashed in water bottles.

The seizure took place Tuesday afternoon at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge, when a 19-year-old Mexican man from Apatzingán, Michoacán rode a taxicab to an inspection booth, officers said.

The taxi was sent to a secondary inspection area, where CBP officers checked the teens belongings and found two bottles of flavored water filled with liquid methamphetamine.

The teen and the drugs were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation and prosecution. The drugs were found to have an estimated value of $106,000.
