Drug seizure

Police said a driver who was stopped about 12:07 a.m. for improper lane usage gave permission to search the SUV. With the help of a trained dog, troopers found the meth in three cellophane bundles.

In a separate incident Aug. 29, a trooper who made a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate 70 near Pierron discovered 7.9 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $790,000.

An occupant of that vehicle, 31, from Phoenix, was held pending filing of federal drug-trafficking charges. All three occupants were detained for possible deportation as immigration law violators.
