Comments Off on Laredo North Agents seize 30 pounds of Methamphetamine

Laredo, TX – On September 13, 2012, at approximately 7:30 PM, Agents assigned to the Laredo North Station seized 30 pounds of methamphetamine at the IH-35 Checkpoint.

While conducting an immigration inspection of the driver of a tractor trailer, a service canine alerted for possible hidden people or contraband in the trailer.


The freightliner was referred to secondary inspection when the canine alerted towards the cargo of the trailer. A further search of the cargo was conducted and Agents discovered a green duffel bag in one of the boxes.

Agents discovered several bricks containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine inside the duffel bag. The contraband weighed 30 pounds and has an estimated street value of about $960,000.00.

The methamphetamine, vehicle and subject were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
