CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A methamphetamine investigation in Caldwell County led to the arrest of a mother and her adult son this week, authorities said.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office said investigators received information that 47-year-old Lisa Woodie Sanders and her 28-year-old son, Thomas Jason Triplett, were involved in cooking meth.

Authorities searched Sanders’ and Triplett’s homes on Log Cabin Road in Lenoir. According to the Sheriff’s Office, agents found chemicals and equipment hidden in a cooler on Triplett’s property and inside a box in an outbuilding on Sanders’ property.

Authorities said they believe the items are consistent with supplies used in the “shake and bake” method of making meth.

Both mother and son were arrested Wednesday, each charged with possession of meth precursor chemicals, a felony.

More arrests could be made, authorities said.
