HOUSTON—Suspicious circumstances led to the arrest of a man who was charged with cocaine possession, and now police have launched a child sexual assault investigation.

It happened at about 12:46 a.m. Thursday when an officer found a suspicious vehicle parked at 1776 Park in the 200 block of Imperial in Friendswood.

As an officer approached the vehicle, Alfred Villareal Garcia, Jr., 39, of Houston, and a 16-year-old boy emerged from the passenger side, police said.

When Garcia’s vehicle was searched an open condom, a clear glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine, a blue glass pipe, several baggies containing methamphetamine and cocaine residue and a baggie with approximately half a gram of cocaine were found, police said.

The 16-year-old boy, who is not a related to Garcia, was interviewed and released to his mother, police said.

The Friendswood Police Department said it will be reviewing evidence seized from the crime scene and evaluating Garcia’s role and possible contact with teen boys.

Garcia was charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1.
