Comments Off on Meth lab in South St. Louis County home nets child endangerment charges

CLAYTON • St. Louis County prosecutors say a 45-year-old woman endangered the lives of three children while making methamphetamine in her south St. Louis County home.

Linda Vanfleet of the 100 block of Kayser Avenue was making methamphetamine on April 3 while the children were inside, according to court documents. All the children were under the age of 17.

St. Louis County knocked on her door after receiving information that she was making meth. She gave them consent to search her home, where they found a one-pot meth lab. Lab analysis later confirmed the presence of 56 grams of methamphetamine, according to the documents.

County prosecutors charged her Sept. 20 with trafficking, possession of a chemical with intent to create a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to use meth.

Vanfleet admitted her offenses to police, authorities say. Her bail was set at $100,000 cash-only.
