JUNEAU, Alaska— A 52-year-old Juneau woman is accused of selling methamphetamine to buy bridal gowns and other formal wear.

KTOO-FM (http://is.gd/XGbHAC) reports that Gema Thomas has been charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Court records say Thomas possessed and distributed at least 50 grams of methamphetamine in early July 2012.

Prosecutors want to seize the entire inventory of Bridal Gowns, Formal Wear, and Tuxedo Rentals on Seward Street. They say that the gowns were acquired with proceeds from Thomas’ meth sales.

Business records show that Thomas also is the owner and operator of Peer Amid Beads and Southeast Artworks.

She was arraigned in U.S. District Court in Juneau on Wednesday and she is scheduled to go to trial in December.
