MURRIETA, Calif.—Border Patrol agents have found $844,000 worth of liquid methamphetamine hidden in a sport utility vehicle at a Southern California checkpoint.

Agents at the Interstate 15 checkpoint in Murrieta arrested the 23-year-old driver of the GMC Envoy and a passenger. Names are being withheld.

A Border Patrol news release says checkpoint agents became suspicious because the driver and passenger appeared to be nervous when they were stopped early Monday.

A drug-sniffing dog detected the drug inside the SUV and the liquid methamphetamine was found in four shampoo bottles and two antifreeze containers in the rear cargo area of the vehicle.

More liquid meth was found in the windshield washer reservoir.
