A Columbia man was arrested yesterday afternoon when sheriff’s deputies allegedly discovered a methamphetamine lab in his residence at Blue Acres Trailer Park.
Boone County Sheriff’s Department deputies at 5:45 p.m. served a search warrant at 4001 S. Ponderosa St., Lot 94, where they suspected meth was being produced, according to a sheriff’s department news release. Deputies discovered finished meth and collected numerous items as evidence of an active meth lab, the release said.
Deputies believe Rusty A. Modglin, 40, was able to dump a portion of the lab in a toilet as deputies entered the residence. He was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
A second subject, Jamie K. Davis, 28, was arrested on suspicion of three outstanding city warrants for failure to appear in court.
