Comments Off on Twenty four pounds of meth seized at local Port of Entry
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Laredo Port of Entry intercepted 24 pounds of crystal methamphetamines within a vehicle on Monday night.

The seizure occurred at the Lincoln-Juarez Bridge on Monday, October 22, 2012 when CBP officers encountered a 2004 Ford Expedition being driven by a 35-year-old Mexican citizen from Pacueco Penjamo, Mexico.

CBP officers referred the vehicle and driver to secondary for a closer inspection. That closer inspection resulted in CBP officers discovering 17 packages containing 24 pounds of alleged crystal methamphetamines concealed within the vehicle. The estimated street value of the crystal methamphetamine is $360,000.

CBP officers seized the methamphetamines, the Ford Expedition, and arrested the female driver. CBP officers turned the woman over to Homeland Security Investigations agents for further investigation.
