Comments Off on Border Patrol Agents Seize Over 32 Pounds of Methamphetamine

LAREDO, TX. – On October 30, Laredo North agents assigned to the Border Patrol Checkpoint located on Interstate Highway 35 encountered a white Lincoln Town Car driven by a 43-year old male U.S.

citizen from Laredo at the primary inspection lane. As agents questioned the driver, he became visibly nervous with the line of questioning and also when he noticed a service canine performing a cursory search.

Subsequently the service canine alerted to the car which was then referred to secondary for further inspection.

At secondary inspection, agents instructed the driver to exit the vehicle to conduct a thorough search of the car using an x-ray mobile machine. After the x-ray was conducted, it revealed anomalies hidden behind the vehicle’s fire wall.

As agents took a closer look, they discovered a total of 26 bundles wrapped in black electrical tape that tested positive for methamphetamine. The contraband weighed 32.6 pounds and has a street value of $1,043,200.

The narcotics, vehicle and subject were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
