Officers also found in the house two bulletproof vests, armor piercing bullets and $5,966 — which authorities said came from drug sales.

Jesse Contreras, 45, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale, Montes said. Salvador Caballero, 32, was arrested on suspicion of possession drugs for sale and possession of a loaded firearm, according to authorities.

The pair were booked into Monterey County Jail. Caballero was placed on an immigration hold because authorities said he was in the country illegally.
