ROY — A 30-year-old Roy woman was arrested Wednesday on three counts of child endangerment after admitting to police that she smoked methamphetamine in the presence of her three children.

Jennifer C. Ben, who lives in the Royal Inn Apartments.  5223 S. 1900 West., was booked into the Weber County Jail on three charges of endangerment of a child or vulnerable adult, a third-degree felony.

The Roy Police Department said Thursday that Ben and a boyfriend admitted to smoking methamphetamine in the presence of the children, and said one child tested positive for the drug in a hair test.

No charges related to drugs have been filed yet.

The children, aged 6, 10 and 13, were taken into custody by the Utah Department of Child and Family Services.

Police said the arrest came at the end of an investigation that began with an initial report on Sept. 26.
