Comments Off on Prosecutor, police announce indictments of 21 on methamphetamine charges in central Arkansas

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A federal prosecutor and the North Little Rock police chief have announced the indictment of nearly two dozen people on methamphetamine charges.

U.S. Attorney Chris Thyer and Police Chief Danny Bradley said Thursday that 21 people are named in the indictment alleging that they distributed meth in central Arkansas.

Thyer spokeswoman Cherith Beck said Thursday afternoon that 18 of the 21 have been arrested.

Thyer and Bradley say the suspects brought the meth to the region from Dallas between July 2011 and Nov. 9, 2012.

Investigators also have seized about $66,000 in cash; 9 vehicles — including two tractor-trailer rigs — and 2 firearms.

The investigation included federal, state and local law enforcement officers.
