A ROCKHAMPTON man has been jailed for three years for supplying drugs, which played a hand in the death of his friend.

Christopher Carswell, 34, appeared before Justice Duncan McMeekin this morning in the Supreme Court of Rockhampton charged with unlawfully supplying dangerous drugs, possessing illegal substances and producing methamphetamine.

The court heard Carswell gave methamphetamines to his friend, who later dropped dead from a drug overdose.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years imprisonment to be suspended after three months in jail.

He has served 508 days in jail.

He will be released in February 2013.
